The LMS will hold a nationwide pilgrimage to the National Shrine of St John Henry Newman at the Birmingham Oratory on SS Peter and Paul's Day, Saturday 29th June 2024.
The day will start with High Mass at 11.00am at which the Provost of the Birmingham Oratory, Fr Ignatius Harrison CongOrat, will preach. The Mass will be followed by an oportunity to venerate the relics of St John Henry.
Following lunch, there will be a talks by Dr Joseph Shaw (LMS Chairman) and Fr Richard Duffield CongOrat (Sometime Postulator of Newman's Cause). Fr Duffield will speak on the subject of Pope Benedict XVI's debt to St John Henry Newman.
The day will also include guided tours of the Newman museum conducted by the museum's Curator, Daniel Joyce.
The Annual General Meeting at 3.30pm is for to LMS members only, but there will be a tour of the Newman Museum for non-members during that time.
There will be a coach from Westminster Cathedral and we hope to organise a coach from Manchester too.
Booking for the Westminster Cathedral coach and lunch will open on this page on 15 May 2024. The closing date for lunch booking is 20 June 2024.
