Confirmation in the Traditional Rite
Bishop John Sherrington (Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster) will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Traditional Rite on Saturday, 21 November 2020 at St James's Spanish Place, London W1U 3QY, at 11.30am. This will be followed by Pontifical Benediction.
To register your child or yourself for Confirmation, please complete the registration form on our website.
The deadline for registering and submitting the required documentation is Friday 16 October 2020.
Una Voce International Magazine: new edition
The spring 2020 edition of the biannual magazine of the FIUV (Una Voce International), Gregorius Magnus, sponsored by the Latin Mass Society, is now available.
The FIUV’s periodical is dedicated to St Gregory the Great (Pope Gregory I), who died in 604 AD, a Pope forever associated with Gregorian Chant, and the Gregorian rite of Mass (the Extraordinary Form).

STATEMENT ON COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) AND THE RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION AT CELEBRATIONS OF THE MASS ACCORDING TO THE EXTRAORDINARY FORM,

The Bishops of England and Wales have issued ‘Guidelines’ (dated 27th February 2020) on steps to be taken in parishes in relation to the possible spread of COVID-19 (the Coronavirus).
Latin Vespers and Benediction in Gateshead
Solemn Vespers will be sung in St Joseph’s, Gateshead, on the Feast of St Joseph. This will be the first occasion that Solemn Vespers have been sung in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle since the liturgical changes were introduced in the 1960s.
Vespers - sung by the parish men’s Schola and the Westland Singers under the direction of Paul Dewhurst - will include a setting of the Magnificat by Orlando de Lassus, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, with music by Elgar and Perosi.
Officiant: Fr Paul Zielinski. Cantors: Fr Michael Brown and Fr David Phillips.
Ash Wednesday: 26th February 2020
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the blessing and imposition of ashes will take place at Mass in more than 40 churches around the country. See HERE for details.
William (Bill) Tomlinson RIP
Please pray for the repose of the soul of William Tomlinson, who died on Monday 10th February 2020. Bill was an employee of the LMS for a number of years, and helped establish the Office when it moved to Macklin Street. He was a life-long supporter of the Traditional Mass, and an altar server both man and boy. He regularly served the Monday evening Mass in Maiden Lane, our annual Masses in Westminster Cathedral and the Sacred Triduum in London. Pray also for his wife, Lucy, and family.

Mass of Ages is the quarterly magazine of the Latin Mass Society. It contains reports on our many activities across the country, national and international news of Traditional Catholic events, feature articles on different aspects of traditional Faith and culture, and opinions and views on developments in the Catholic Church.
